如何衡量一個人的智慧?除了智商、情商外,近年來又流行一個新概念:逆商(AQ)。
IQ、EQ、AQ并稱3Q,成為人們獲取成功必備的法寶。
智商(IQ)——Intelligence Quotient的縮寫,意為智力商數(shù),簡稱智商。它是測量個體智力發(fā)展水平的一種指標(biāo)。
情商(EQ)——Emotional Quotient的縮寫, 又稱情緒智力,是近年來心理學(xué)家們提出的與智力和智商相對應(yīng)的概念。它指管理自己的情緒和處理人際關(guān)系的能力。
逆商(AQ)——Adversity Quotient是我們在面對逆境時的處理能力。一個人AQ愈高,愈能以彈性面對逆境,積極樂觀,接受困難的挑戰(zhàn),發(fā)揮創(chuàng)意找出解決方案,因此能不屈不撓,愈挫愈勇,而終究表現(xiàn)卓越。心理專家表示,繼智商(IQ)、情商(EQ)后,逆商(AQ)已成為新一代職場熱門詞匯。
今天,我們就來學(xué)學(xué)有關(guān)這些“商”的英語:
1. Tom has got a doctorate degree. To tell the truth, he has a high IQ but a low EQ.
湯姆已經(jīng)獲得了博士學(xué)位。說實話,他智商很高,但是情商很低。
2. An IQ score should not be treated as the only stagnant representation of the intellectual quality of a person.
IQ分?jǐn)?shù)不應(yīng)該作為描述個體智力品質(zhì)的唯一表述。
3. For businesses,a high-AQ workforce translates to increased capacity, productivity, and innovation, as well as higher morale.

A teacher stood before his class of twenty biology students, about to hand out the final exam.
生物老師站在全班同學(xué)的面前,準(zhǔn)備發(fā)放期末考試的試卷。
"I want to say that it's been a pleasure teaching you this semester. I know you've all worked extremely hard and many of you are off to college after summer.
我想對大家說,這個學(xué)期能教你們生物課,我真的很開心。我知道你們學(xué)習(xí)都很認(rèn)真、很努力,你們中的很多人,這個暑假之后,就要開始大學(xué)生活了。
So that no one fails, anyone who would like to opt out of the final exam today will receive a 'B' for the course. ”
所以,這次考試,不會有人不及格。你們中間決定不參加今天考試的同學(xué),都可以獲得B的成績。
There was much rejoicing in the class as students got up, walked to the front of the class, and took the professor up on his offer.
很多學(xué)生十分欣喜,他們走到講臺,跟老師提出免除考試的申請。
As the last taker left the room, the professor looked out over the handful of remaining students and asked, "Anyone else? This is your last chance."
當(dāng)所有不愿意參加考試的學(xué)生都離開了教室之后,這位老師看著教室里剩下的為數(shù)不多的同學(xué)說道:“還有人要求不參加考試嗎?這是最后的機會了哦!”
One final student rose up and opted out of the final. The professor closed the door and took attendance of those still remaining.
又有一個學(xué)生站了起來,離開了教室。老師隨即關(guān)上了教室的門說,對著教室里剩下的學(xué)生說道:
"I'm glad to see you believe in yourselves," he said. "You all get 'A's."

1. The Master once asked his disciples which was more important: wisdom or action.
The disciples were unanimous: "Action, of course. Of what use is wisdom that does not show itself in action"?
Said the Master, "And of what use is action that proceeds from an unenlightened heart"?

3. Before the visitor embarked upon discipleship, he wanted assurance from the Master.
"Can you teach me the goal of human life"?
"I cannot".
"Or at least its meaning"?
"I cannot".
"Can you indicate to me the nature of death and of life beyond the grave"?
"I cannot".
The visitor walked away in scorn. The disciples were dismayed that their Master had been shown up in a poor light. Said the Master soothingly, "Of what is it to comprehend life's nature and life's meaning if you have never tasted it? I'd rather you ate your pudding than speculated on it".
