to stop holding or gripping something or someone. 放開某事或者某物
When a child grows up and moves away from home, it can be hard for parents to let go. 當(dāng)孩子長(zhǎng)大離開家的時(shí)候, 家長(zhǎng)往往很難放手。
You need to let go of the past. 你要放下過(guò)去。
to fail to take care of (yourself) 不在乎自己 (健康,形象等等)
I was very depressed back then and had really let myself go. 當(dāng)時(shí)我非常抑郁并且不在乎自己。
Some women really let themselves go after having a baby. 有些女人生完孩子就不修邊幅了。
