·電影的創(chuàng)作靈感來源于電影《金玉盟》，甚至使用了它的主題曲，一些主要場景中也有《金玉盟》的片斷。電影中男女主角在帝國大廈的相見是為了彌補(bǔ)《金玉盟》中加里·格蘭特未能實(shí)現(xiàn)和黛博拉·蔻兒在帝國大廈相見的諾言。電影中，男主角山姆與朋友談到該片時(shí)甚至叫它“娘兒們電影”（Chick movie）。此外，由于電影中的女主角非常喜歡看電影《金玉盟》，而間接導(dǎo)致《金玉盟》的錄像帶賣出了200萬盒。
·最初電影的女主角打算讓茱莉亞羅伯茨出演，而男主演打算找丹尼斯·奎德。而后，在遭到金·貝辛格、米歇爾·菲佛、詹妮弗·杰森·李和朱迪·福斯特的婉拒后，最后才選定梅格瑞恩為電影女主演。
