Who: US and UN Expeditionary forcesThree months after North Korea’s surprise attack on South Korea, United Nations forces, led by US General Douglas MacArthur launch a surprise invasion at a point miles behind the front lines at the west port city of Inchon.Inchon harbor had severe tidal fluxes meaning the attacks had to go off on a precise time table before the tide retreated from the city. Despite this difficulty, and the first waves not going as planned, the attack was successful in opening a second front and proved to the North Koreans that their invasion was not going to be an easy victory.
