S-Bahn(Schnellbahn)and Stra?enbahn are not easy to distinguish but they are not the same，Pay attention of the semesterticket which type of transportation is allowed or may be punished with 60 Euro because of missunderstanding!
There is basically no turnstile in public transport in Germany, but you must buy a ticket and punch (Validierung) at the ticket machine. If you use a ticket without a punch, you can use it as a fare evasion. The penalty is 60 Euro. Pay attention to the range of use of the ticket. Under the circumstances, it is not allowed to exceed the range. I remember that the ticket inspectors of the S-Bahn München are very unfriendly.
