這組詞都可表示“天賦”、“才能”、“天資”、“天分”等意思。
talent 一般用詞,指某一方面的天賦和才能。
1) She has a remarkable talent for staging and directing plays.
(她在組織演出和導(dǎo)演戲劇方面有非凡天賦。)
2) My sister has a great talent for painting when she was a middle school.
(我姊姊在中學(xué)時有杰出繪畫天賦。)
genus 語氣較強,指非凡的才能。
1) Picasso’s artistic genius and achievement assured him of a dominant place in the history of modern art.
(畢加索的藝術(shù)天才和成保證了他在現(xiàn)代藝術(shù)史上的顯著地位。)
2)You and your parents can stop worrying — Edison, Darwin and lots more were far from being geniuses in their teems.
(你和你的父母不用擔(dān)心,愛迪生,達爾文,會有許多其他名人在少年時代都遠非什么天才。)
gift 指在某一方面的天賦,強調(diào)悟性好,但并非一定指創(chuàng)造性和獨創(chuàng)性。
1) The artist is nothing withut the gift, but the gift is nothing without the work.
(藝術(shù)家所擁有的不過就是天賦,而天賦離開了努力的工作則什么都不是。)
2) He has a special gift of being able to commit every detail to memory when he sees a photo.
(他有一種特殊的天賦,他看見一張照片后能吧每一細節(jié)都記憶下來。)
faculty 側(cè)重指智能上的天賦或能力。
1) He lacks the faculty of coping with the unexpected incidents at the critical moment.
(他缺乏在關(guān)鍵時刻應(yīng)對突發(fā)事件能力。)
2) He seems to have an extraordinary faculty for neotiation with tough rivals.
(他似乎有著優(yōu)異的才能難打交道的對手進行談判。)
aptitude 正式用詞,指在某方面有極高的天分和能力。

(愛迪生具有發(fā)明創(chuàng)造的非凡才能。)
2) The son of a schoolmaster, he showed an extraordinary childhood aptitude for music, studying the piano, violin, organ, singing and harmony etc.
(他是一個學(xué)校教師的兒子, 童年就表現(xiàn)出非凡的音樂天賦,他學(xué)習(xí)鋼琴,小提琴,風(fēng)琴、唱歌、和聲等。)
