The project is the first Tomacado restaurant in Shanghai, which issituated at One ITC in Xuhui District. Originated in Beijing, the brand hasbrought its love and charm to Shanghai, a prosperous and bustling metropolisthat attracts people from worldwide. Due to the fast-paced lifestyles, thelocal people aspire for an undisturbed place where they can slow down to enjoylife and console their restless soul. As a restaurant and also a flower shop,the project aims to create a secluded paradise in the busy city.
設(shè)計師認(rèn)為空間一定是由物體所創(chuàng)造的，所以物體即是功能的需求也是空間層次的一個根本，它也是空間環(huán)繞動線的一個載體，也可以是一個有趣的物體構(gòu)造和裝置，而這種構(gòu)造關(guān)系，可以讓我們從這里看向那里變得有趣或無趣，也可以通過某一種材質(zhì)和物體構(gòu)造去模糊空間和另一個界面的關(guān)系，所以物體本身存在的價值就是多樣性的，空間也就有了更大的價值；
Our design team is convinced that space is formed by objects, soobjects are the basis of functions and layering of space, and also carriersthat connect the space with the circulation routes. They can be interestingstructures and installations, which may produce playful or sometimes dullvisual experiences. In addition, a particular material or structure can beutilized to help blur the relationship between the space and other interfaces.Therefore, objects themselves are of diverse value, and are also capable ofendowing the space with greater value.
入口處通過一個建筑體塊貫穿在前廳和走道之間，因?yàn)榭臻g過于緊湊，將分散的功能區(qū)整合為一個整體，結(jié)合了花藝展臺與水吧臺的功能，一定程度上模糊了花店與餐廳的分區(qū)界限。也改變了以往水吧在空間的相對獨(dú)立性。
The entrance isconnected to the foyer and the passage via an architectural block. Due to thelimited space, scattered functional areas are integrated into a whole. Theflower display stand and the bar counter are united, which blurs the boundarybetween the flower shop and the restaurant to some extent whilst breaking theconventional independent presence of water bars.
空間的物體線索來自蒲公英，我們設(shè)想蒲公英隨風(fēng)飄向大自然的和諧性，來自于生物和環(huán)境的有機(jī)互動，種子從母體脫離，散開飄動時產(chǎn)生的一種自然優(yōu)美感；
The design inspiration for objects in the space comes fromdandelions. Dandelions in nature drift with wind, which embodies harmony andorganic interaction between living things and the environment. It’s sobeautiful and elegant when the seeds are detached from the maternal plant anddrift away.
于是設(shè)計師提取了蒲公英的概念去詮釋花廚的意義，把蒲公英的形態(tài)重新抽離組合，形成一種新的裝置藝術(shù)表現(xiàn)與空間對話，又相互彼此的消化著蒲公英的形態(tài)；把藝術(shù)裝置作為主體，客戶作為飄散的另一個載體，嘗試將美好和美食傳播到外界。蒲公英裝置作為空間的主體建筑，從天而降的視覺效果，呈中心向四周發(fā)散，提升消費(fèi)者在空間的沉浸感；
We extracted the design concept from dandelions, to interpret the story of Tomacado. The forms of dandelions were translated into a new artinstallation, which dialogues with the space. Envisioning the art installationas the 'main body' and customers as moving “carriers”, the designaims to communicate Tomacado's fabulous food and charm to the outside world. As the main'body' of the space, the art installation creates a visual effectthat dandelions fall down from the top and spread from the center to alldirections, which immerses the customers into the atmosphere.
設(shè)計師從建筑師彼得·卒姆托提出的“custom-madearchitecture(客制建筑)”的理念，強(qiáng)調(diào)空間與在地環(huán)境相互融合，在整個內(nèi)外立面的構(gòu)造關(guān)系中，為了隱藏了原有建筑中存在的鋼架結(jié)構(gòu)外貌，設(shè)計師結(jié)合了上海法租界的歷史建筑和當(dāng)下建筑，重新整理有序，構(gòu)造出拱形門窗的建筑形態(tài)，原本直白的光線通過拱形結(jié)構(gòu)的影響，通過時間的變化而改變著光影進(jìn)入室內(nèi)的樣貌，當(dāng)人和光同時進(jìn)入時，蒲公英又感知到風(fēng)，擺動在空中時，光線、空間與人之間的對話，整個空間就充滿了驚喜和滿足。設(shè)計師把其中一面墻將花藝半嵌入墻體，用肌理涂料將其涂抹，將墻面的唯美與蒲公英裝置形成靜與動的有趣結(jié)合。
Based on the conceptof “custom-made architecture” put forward by Peter Zumthor, we emphasized theintegration of the space and the local context. In order to hide the originalsteel architectural framework, we drew on both historical and new buildingswithin the former French Concession area in Shanghai, and decided to createarched door and window openings. Influenced by those arched structures, thelight filtering in and the shadows are full of changes throughout the day. Aspeople and light entering, the dandelion elements perceive the wind and swingin the air. In this way, a silent dialogue among light, people and spacebegins, making the place full of surprises and satisfaction. Moreover, weembedded floral art onto a wall and painted it with textured finishes, whichgenerates an interesting, aesthetic contrast of stillness and motion with theart installation.
與其定義其風(fēng)格，材料、空間和光線相結(jié)合而營造出的氛圍，才是設(shè)計師想要表達(dá)的；建筑的簡潔性、構(gòu)造的清晰度和材質(zhì)的純粹感成為空間新的美學(xué)載體；還原了這種從有機(jī)互動中誕生的美感，讓顧客的感官以放松的狀態(tài)置于營造的空間里，在光影流動中體會自然界植物的唯美，希望姑娘們帶著心愛的人帶著閨蜜，在這里享受美妙的故事和美食。
Rather than definingthe style of the space, we wanted to create a unique interior ambience throughthe combination of materials, space and light. The simplistic architecturalstructures, clear spatial pattern and pure material palette have become newaesthetic carriers of the space. The design presents the aesthetic born fromorganic interaction, which enables the customers to relax and to comprehend thebeauty of natural plants in the space awash with interplay of light andshadows. We expect girls to bring their beloved ones and best friends to enjoythe wonderful food and stories there.
