                 千年學(xué)府，岳麓書院

岳麓書院位于湖南省長沙市湘江西岸的岳麓山東面山下，是中國古代傳統(tǒng)書院建筑，屬于中國歷史上著名的四大書院之一。1988年，岳麓書院建筑群被國務(wù)院批準為第三批全國重點文物保護單位。

北宋開寶九年(976年)，潭州太守朱洞在僧人辦學(xué)的基礎(chǔ)上，由官府捐資興建，正式創(chuàng)立岳麓書院。嗣后，歷經(jīng)宋、元、明、清各代，至清末光緒二十九年(1903年)改為湖南高等學(xué)堂。

北宋祥符八年(公元1015年)，宋真宗召見山長周式，并賜書"岳麓書院"四字門額。1926年正式定名為湖南大學(xué)。岳麓書院歷經(jīng)千年，弦歌不絕，故世稱"千年學(xué)府"，現(xiàn)為湖南大學(xué)下屬學(xué)院。

Yuelu Academy is located at the eastern foot of the Mountain Yuelu on the West Bank of Xiangjiang River in Changsha City, Hunan Province. It is a academy of Chinese ancient traditional building and one of the four famous academies in Chinese history. In 1988, Yuelu Academy complex was approved by the State Council as the third batch of national key cultural relics protection units.

In the ninth year of Kaibao of the Northern Song Dynasty (976), Zhu Dong, the prefect of Tanzhou, was built with the donation of the government on the basis of the school run by monks, and officially founded Yuelu Academy.  after the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was changed into Hunan Higher School in the 29th year of Guangxu (1903) at the end of the Qing Dynasty.

In the eighth year of Xiangfu in the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 1015), Song Zhenzong summoned executive directorZhoushi and gave a four character gate of "Yuelu Academy". It was officially named Hunan University in 1926. Yuelu Academy has been known as "Millennium University" for thousands of years, and is now a subordinate college of Hunan University.
