Comments twitter facebook Sina Microblog reddit BEIJING, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- China and the Republic of Korea (ROK) held their firstdialogue on diplomatic security in Beijing on Monday, a Chinese Foreign Ministryspokeswoman said on Tuesday.
Spokeswoman Hua Chunying said at a regular press briefing that the bureau-level dialoguewas attended by staff from the two countries' foreign ministries and defense ministries.
During the dialogue, the two sides exchanged in-depth views on international and regionalissues of common concern and agreed to enhance communication on strategic issues andstep up cooperation in all fields in a bid to safeguard regional peace, stability anddevelopment, Hua said.
Hua said the dialogue is part of the joint statement inked between China and the ROKduring ROK president Park Geun-hye's visit to China in June and both sides enhancedpolitical mutual trust and deepened coordination through the dialogue.
Hua said that China is willing to work with the ROK, by taking the advantage of thedialogue, to make greater contributions to safeguarding peace and stability in NortheastAsia.
