Humanitarian Day, we
renew our commitment to life-saving relief efforts -- and remember those who died while serving this noble cause.
值此世界人道主義日之際，我們重申對(duì)拯救生命的救濟(jì)行動(dòng)的承諾，并緬懷為這一崇高事業(yè)而獻(xiàn)身的人士。
People who have lived through terrible events are often left with nothing. No family; no food; no shelter; no job. Not even a passport or ID paper. Nothing.
歷經(jīng)悲慘事件的人們常常一無所有。沒有家庭、沒有食物、沒有住房、沒有工作。甚至沒有護(hù)照或身份證件。一無所有。
Humanitarian workers help them get back on their feet to restart their lives. Aid workers are the envoys we send to show our solidarity with suffering. They represent what is best in human nature. But their work is dangerous. Often, they venture to some of the most perilous places on earth. And often, they pay a heavy price.
Harassment and intimidation. Kidnapping and even murder.
人道主義工作人員幫助他們重新自立，重新開始生活。援助人員是我們派去聲援身處困境者的特使。他們代表人性中最美好的一面。但是他們的工作是危險(xiǎn)的。經(jīng)常，他們勇敢地踏入地球上最危險(xiǎn)的一些地方。經(jīng)常，他們付出沉重的代價(jià)。騷擾和恐嚇。綁架，甚至謀殺。
January's earthquake in Haiti was a humanitarian
catastrophe for the country. It also had a devastating impact on aid workers. The United Nations lost some of its most dedicated staff on that day.
今年1月海地地震是該國(guó)的人道主義災(zāi)難。這也給救援人員帶來災(zāi)難性影響。那一天聯(lián)合國(guó)失去了一些最盡忠職守的工作人員。
On World Humanitarian Day, let us remember those in need ... Those who have fallen while trying to help them ... And those who continue to give aid, undeterred by the dangers they face -- for the sake of building a safer, better world.
值此世界人道主義日，讓我們記住那些需要幫助的人……那些在努力幫助別人時(shí)倒下的人……和那些為了建設(shè)一個(gè)更加安全、更加美好的世界，臨危不懼繼續(xù)提供援助的人。

筆記的結(jié)構(gòu)是非常重要的，一邊聽一邊分析句子的主謂賓是什么，介詞部分一定要畫括號(hào)，否則記出來的東西沒有邏輯，翻譯更無從談起。并列的部分也一定要用并列符號(hào)畫出。這篇文章屬于典型的聯(lián)合國(guó)演講，考試非常有可能出的類型，大家多多練習(xí)哦！
