Dear Sir
I’m Lihua, a student from China, who is starting in London during the summer holiday. Knowing an exhibition of Chinese painting will be held at the gallery next month, I am writing to apply for the chance to become a volunteer.
I have the following advantages. First of all, I speak English fluently, which allows me to communicate with visitors without difficulty. Secondly, as a Chinese painting lover, I know a lot about this art form. If accepted, I can introduce Chinese painting skills to visitors, which can help them know more about Chinese culture
I think I am qualified to be a volunteer. Please give me a chance.
Yours
Lihua
Possible version two
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to apply to be a volunteer for the Chinese Painting Exhibition which will be held in your art gallery. I think I am qualified for this job, because I have learned Chinese painting since childhood. Equally important, I am fluent in both Chinese and English, so I have no difficulty in communicating with others. If I am lucky enough to be chosen as a volunteer, I can show visitors around the gallery and answer their questions about the paintings, after some proper training.
I would be more than grateful if you could offer me the opportunity.?I’m looking forward to your reply.
Yours,
Li Hua

Dear Chris,
I’m writing to let you know that we will have a volleyball match next month. The match will take place in our school gym on the morning of July 8th. We will play against a team from Lingnan High School. For good performance in the match, we must get fully prepared and practice hard. So starting tomorrow, we all need to train for two hours after school every day. In addition, we should avoid getting hurt during the training and have a healthy diet to keep fit.
You’re an excellent player. With you on the team, we have every hope of beating Lingnan. Let’s try hard together!
Yours
Li Hua

Dear Chris,
Are you excited about our coming volleyball game against Yucai middle school next Friday? Here, I'd like to inform you of some detailed information so that you can make full preparations for it.
First and foremost, the competition to be held in our school stadium will begin at 2p.m. and last for roughly 3 hours. So significant is the game that it is required that everyone should present themselves punctually. Further, it's necessary for you to take a good rest, which will provide enough energy for you. To sum up, I wish you could live up to the expectations of our school. And I firmly believe hard work will pay off .
Looking forward to our victory.

Dear Alex,
I’ve just learned you’re leaving for the United States soon. At this moment, I want to express my sincere thanks to you for your help.
Honestly speaking, but for your help, I wouldn’t have made such great progress in English. With your help, I won first prize in an English speech contest. Whenever I have difficulties, you always cheer me up and help me out. Words can’t describe how thankful I am.
Wish you a pleasant journey home.
Yours,
Li Hua
Possible version two
Dear Alex,
Hearing that you will return to your country soon, I feel a bit upset. But meanwhile, I want to send my sincere gratitude for your kind help with my English learning.
I still remember what you've devoted to improving my oral English and English writing. Besides, you also frankly shared your learning experience with me. Additionally, without your help, I would not have been a top student in English and would not have won English Speech Contest. All in all, words fail to express my thankfulness to you.
I do hope that you will have a bright future and that our friendship will last forever.
Yours,
Li Hua

請(qǐng)閱讀下面文字,并按照要求用英語寫一篇150詞左右的文章。
Li Jiang: Have you heard this? A group of exchange students from the UK are visiting our school next month.
Su Hua: Yes, I have. Some are already recommending the traditional Chinese dress for the welcome ceremony.
Li Jiang: But it seems people have different opinions.
Su Hua: What do you think?
Li Jiang: I think it’s a good idea. It’s an opportunity to make the Chinese culture better known to international students.
Su Hua: I agree. But we don’t have to dress that way. That’s not our daily style. Besides, it’s not very convenient.
Li Jiang: You see, it’s the Chinese culture that the British friends are coming for. Just the right occasion.
Su Hua: I prefer the school uniform. It’s nice. It’s also a better display of our school culture.
【寫作內(nèi)容】
1. 用約30個(gè)詞概括上述信息的主要內(nèi)容;
2. 在上述場合,你是否傾向于穿中國傳統(tǒng)服裝? 請(qǐng)說明理由(不少于兩點(diǎn))。
【寫作要求】
1. 寫作過程中不能直接引用原文語句;
2. 作文中不能出現(xiàn)真實(shí)姓名和學(xué)校名稱;
3. 不必寫標(biāo)題。

內(nèi)容完整,語言規(guī)范,語篇連貫,詞數(shù)適當(dāng)。
Possible version one
Li Jiang and Su Hua are discussing what to wear when receiving the British students next month. Li recommends the traditional Chinese dress while Su prefers the school uniform.
I would be happy to wear traditional Chinese clothes at the welcome ceremony. Firstly, this is precisely what the British visitors are expecting. They come to learn about Chinese culture with their own eyes. Their Chinese peers in the typical Chinese dress would be highly impressive. The school uniforms are fine, but not special enough to givea unique Chinese flavor. Secondly, the inconvenience is not a problem if our purpose is to share Chinese culture. It is just the so-called in convenience that displays the richness, delicacy and great fascination of Chinese culture with a history of thousands of years.
The traditional Chinese clothes, it seems to me, will make the occasion very Chinese and inviting to the British guests.
Possible version two
Li Jiang and Su Hua don’t agree on what to wear when greeting the British students. Li suggests traditional Chinese clothes while Su thinks the school uniforms are more suitable.
I prefer the school uniform to the traditional Chinese dress at the welcome ceremony next month. Although the traditional Chinese dress may look more beautiful and stylish, it is a little bit strange to walk around in it. We feel at ease in our school uniforms everyday. What’s more, the traditional Chinese dress can’t reflect the unique culture of our school. From the design and color of our uniforms, the British friends will learn more about our school. Besides, the choice of the traditional Chinese dress means extra money, and extra time, for we have to change it back after the event.
So the school uniforms are a better choice than the traditional Chinese dress for such an occasion.

Last week I took part in a farmwork programme in the suburbs.
At the class meeting, our teacher told us about the programme with the theme “Working is most beautiful”. And he stressed the importance of working with our own hands.
When I got home, I packed up my luggage for the trip.
On the farm, we helped pick watermelons. While working, I realized how hard it was to work in the fields under a hot sun.
When I came back home, I shared my experiences with my parents. And they were very proud of me.
